Hidden away inside the AWE Recreational society is a beautiful 272 theatre. First constructed into a dancing hall during the Second World War, it opened as the William Penney Lecture Theatre on the 14th February 1966. And now, sixty years later, Mayday Productions is bringing life back into this theatre, with our 2026 Summer Season we are proud to introduce a new generation of artists and creatives at our new home: The William Penney Theatre.
